Sharing

The burdens of life and stresses of the day

Don t need to wedge us, gone and away

We are here, with  ear and heart

Sharing good and bad, though miles apart

Our thoughts and concerns dont need to stew

Sometimes its good, to have another’s  view

A different take, a voice of reason

Helps us regain the silly season

Sharing means, perspective is regained

Or fun and laughter ease the strain

Sometimes its pure joy we share

Life is good no need for repair

Sexy images and fantasies

Make us happy boost realities

With love and joy in our hearts anew

Helps  navigate,to expand our fields of view

Friendship

I look at my friends and see such diverse human beings

What is the recipe ,what makes us gel?

With some I share interests, with some it’s harder to tell

With some I would bare my soul, but with others I would share just parts

I suppose with all, they touch my heart

Shared memories, laughter and gossip sprinkled into the mix

Acceptance of my non perfect state, a non judgemental fix

Kind gestures, actions that inspire

Are the kindling of friendships fire.

OAdventure

Adventure to one is purgatory to the next,
An unusual and exciting or daring experience,
Kick starts the hormones, prestiges giddyness,

Thats what they would have us believe,

Testing the boundaries,kicking the traces,

Striving to have fun, finding four aces,

Be it the adrenaline rush, or the wonder inspired,

Its out of the comfort zone, effort required,

Adventure will be high on our lists

Even where anxieties sneakily persist.
Adventure to one, is purgatory to the next,

It depends on ones psyche, whether it feels like a hex,
I read of adventures enacted by some,

Mountain climbing, and round the world sailing leave me numb,

Free styling across high and barren cliffs, bungee jumping over an abyss,

I freak at the thought, at the mind blowing effort,

My soft psyche thinks unpleasant,

Testing the body to the limits, a half inch from death,

The thought makes me catch my breath,

For the high octane adventurers I am full of awe,

My idea of adventure would stick in their craw.
Adventure to one, is commonplace to the next,

It depends on ones psyche if it is breath of life, or hex,

Adventure is anything we want to be

Even a gentle outing down to the sea.

Another year older!

Oh woe, I woke up today,

Granted a good thing,anyway,

I looked in the mirror and seemed the same,

Slightly creased and crumpled, hair a tatty mane,

My angst,  is mostly due to the  fact,

I aged a whole year in the night, a really unfair attack,

Birthdays are often fun,

More especially, when we are young,

I can’t quite celebrate, like the New Year,

Will make an effort later though, let’s be clear,

Checked again, face looks very much the same,

Grinning now, deciding to play life’s game,

Using my new perfume, designed for the rebellious girl,

Up and at life,  age is a label, new avenues to unfurl,

With age comes wisdom  (some of the time),

I am maturing like  a fine red wine,

Or maybe a piece of maturing cheese,

But staying youthful if you please,

That sneaky added year, that arrived in the night,

Will not change things without a fight.

Walking out

Every dream you promised me

Drew me close, then misery

Your words were seductive don’t you see.
You took my heart and held it safe

I gave my trust, to an inventive knave

My first mistake, I can vouchsafe.
Those carefully crafted  lies of yours

Drew me in, closed other doors

You locked my heart, that gave me pause.
You buried that key, and pulled me low

I was drowning in your undertow

You swore to never let me go.
My will was sapped, your wiles were strong

This warped existence , became life’s song

I need the strength  to right the wrong.
From the dirt ,the key I hold, now I just need,to be bold

Without a doubt, I am walking out, you lost your hold

Your seductive schemes just leave me cold.

The key of the gods

Far back in time, a kingdom flourished,

Its ruler fair and benign, he sat upon

a gilded throne, his acumen divine,

Until the day he sent his knights, on an

inadvertent crime, where they stole the key

to the vault of the Gods, on a raid for  special wine.
Far back in time, a kingdom flourished,

Its ruler fair and benign, he sat upon

a gilded throne, his acumen divine,

Until the time of the wrath of the gods,

when chaos ruled  all time, the key to the vault

went missing, a regular paradigm.
Far back in time, a kingdom flourished,

Its ruler fair and benign, he sat upon

a gilded throne, his acumen divine,

He sent his subjects searching in deserts,

Far and wide, the key is buried in the dirt,

The king  is  totally frantic he even built a shrine.
Far back in time, a kingdom flourished,

Its ruler fair and benign, he sat upon

a gilded throne, his acumen divine,

Until the day of the catastrophic event,

That wiped his kingdom out, and spread destruction

From the Gods, the volcano was a sign.
Far back in time, a kingdom flourished,

Its ruler fair and benign, he sat upon

a gilded throne, his acumen divine,

Now archeologists explore the land,

Thy search for treasure all,  one digs in the dirt

and brings out a key,  hear the king repine.
