Strangers but not strangers

We are strangers, connected by the comfort of unfamiliarity.
Although familiarity, knowing  the other, is becoming more a reality.
We touch the edges of our lives.
Spend time  in banter, in play, in idle chat in sexy  innuendo, adding fizz.
It’s peculiar how the inadvertent takes us to a complete circle.
That feeling of connection; that longing for the things we are not supposed to have.

His face is nothing more than the image of a desired reflection.
Those eyes speaking to me behind his smile.
Light and shadows confound the lines of time.
I want to see him but reality denies my wish.
All we will ever have are conversations  pictures and the play of words, poetry to sculpt our imaginations.

Is it enough?
For now until it becomes rebuff.

What sort of woman?

What sort of woman do you want
Is there a type that makes you respond
Am I the woman that fits your dreams
Or the type that will give you nightmare screams
Can complex personalities distill the traits
Drill down to find those that the man rates
If women were poems what would you choose
The haiku, short sweet and mysterious
The ode long and serious
Does it depend on your mood
Would you prefer quip and rhyme food
Or sample rhythmic stanzas
Maybe dip into a compendium bonanza
Is it erotic verse that speaks to you
Or a strong woman, with a heart true
My poem is made of complex twists
Turn the pages sample my stories
They may attract you with their glories
If not,you will not be the man for me
Because, what ever your dreams may be
Whilst I can join you, I am the me
Happy with the way I be.

Rebuilding dreams

Today my dream seems set to rust
Think it’s past it, reduced to dust
Gossamer threads colour my day
Looking at a horizon layered in grey
Sure the dark is pulling me in.

Hold my dreams, in my hand
Sifting through their hues, there’s  a bright strand
Hold that strand towards the light
Twinkling green, then pink, burning bright
Sure the dark is starting to spin.

Twist it round the layers of grey
Life moves on, learn from yesterday
Pick out the issues learn from mistakes
Grasp the new thread with renewed faith
Sure the dark is starting to dim.

Know that some dreams wither away
Hold that fledgling dream and weigh
Twist those colours new bright strand
Hope rebuilt in my hands
Sure the darkness didn’t win.

Meeting

Feeling my cheeks blush
Swamped by this crush
Meeting you for a date
Nervous and excited at fate
My heart is hammering
Emotions enamoring
I have imagined this event
All my dreams it represents
We have been friends for so long
A far away bond has been strong
Feeling sick but delighted
Over awed but excited
Burning at your touch
Skin has a flush
Anxiety superfluous
Eyes longing lustful
Can’t move a muscle
Locked in your arms
Open to your charms
Ready to enact our fantasies.

Need

Restless
Romantic
Rapture

Sensual
Seductive
Smooth

Tantalising
Textured
Touch

Unbridled Passion
Unexpressed aching
Unquenchable thirst

Desires of the flesh
Deliciously naughty
Desperate need

Meet
Meld
Make love.

Release
Roused
Rapture

The person I wanted you to be

I am finding it hard to reconcile
How I could be so naive
It should be on our codicil
We didn’t set out to deceive
I found myself so much in love
With the person I wanted you to be
Instead of looking objectively enough
At the person there to see
Maybe in your vanity
You tried to hide your flaws
Maybe in my vanity
I ignored the warning scores
It’s sad I can’t forgive you
For having feet of clay
When mine are similar too
Maybe that’s my dismay
I haven’t yet cured myself of love
Without you I am feeling blue
Am I longing for my fantasy above
A love given true?

The need to write

Out of my mind, onto the page,
Ideas stream, words just rage,
Clamouring for release, urging me on,
My love for life, drives the marathon,
Creativity tantalises, pushes the pace,
The need to transcribe, a daily race,
Wanting to engage,  to evoke a reaction,
Portraying all of life, immense satisfaction

A thousand desires

A thousand desires
Maybe more
I can feel you draw
As you trace the fibres
Of my being
Rose coloured beauty
My reaction to you spooky
A window to a world intriguing
As we draw closer
You evoke furthermore
A thousand desires, maybe more
Let’s make disclosure.

Moving closer

Excited by the flirtation
Every move a revelation
She steps ever closer
Shedding her composure
Should she take a chance
Her heart before, was lanced
Protecting that healed wound
Must not leave her bound
Time to take the plunge
New world’s, old world’s expunge
No time to reminisce
Now is the time for bliss
Excited anticipation twists
Together they join in that first kiss
