Anticipation

Anticipation

Starting a new chapter

Anticipation

New period of rapture

New dating

Maybe mating

Anticipation

They tick all the boxes

How thick a façade do they have to fox us

Anticipation

Expecting lots of validation

Out if the window procrastination

Anticipation

Putting aside old wrongs and disappointments

Clean sheet foregoing clairvoyance

Anticipation

Hoping for a match

Going to damp down expectations

Waiting for this adventure, too unfurl and hatch

Anticipation

Love

Love is the joy

Love is the motivator

Love is the buzz

Love is the decoy

Love is the lance

Stabbing the unwary, part of a dance

Love can destroy

Love can be the laser

Cauterising the heart

Love can be pain

Tearing worlds apart

Love can be bitter

Love can be sweet

Love can be dark

Twisted with blight

Love can be bright

Radiating light

Love is an emotion

Hard to define

Comes in many guises

Hard to define

Love is the bell weather the holy grail

If its missing we think we failed.

Marking the page

Out of my mind, onto the page,

Ideas stream, words just rage,

Calmouring for release, urging me on,

My love for life, drives the marathon,

Creativity tantalises, pushes the pace,

The need to transcribe, a daily race,

Wanting to engage,  to evoke a reaction,

Portraying all of life, immense satisfaction.

I Will Write A Love Song

Loved this.

Frank Solanki's avatarFrank Solanki

I will write a love song

Though I don’t believe in love anymore

I will sing a love song

Just like I used to before

I believed love was sufficient

Can surpass any wall

Enough to live and die for

And that would be all

Thought love was the greatest feeling

Absolutely pure and divine

And it would come to me eventually

So I could call it mine

But I was terribly mistaken

Proved bitterly wrong

Must stop watching movies

Must stop listening to songs

For love doesn’t exist

As she rightly pointed out

Life is about convenience

There isn’t any doubt

But there is nothing here

That you need to learn

You just keep believing

Love isn’t meant for everyone

So I will write a love song

Though I don’t believe in love anymore

I will sing a love song

Just like I…

Inner Light

Look into the mirror what do I see

Do I see, the outer shell that masquerades as me

Look a little closer, stare into my eyes

Can I see an inner glow, flickering, burning, a surprise

Ah maybe that is my inner light

The me stripped of pretences, burning ever brighter

The implications are tremendous
Look more closely at others, past the different facades

Can I find the inner light behind their masquerades

Will I find a different person hiding inside

Away from the projected face with filters all applied

We need to find the inner light

To find the true mankind

Society encourages conformity that maybe makes us blind

Connection

Connection

You walk beside me

Even though we are worlds apart

Connection
I have the pictures of you

Mind generated

Plus photographs sent over the ether

I have the pictures of you
Sharing with you

You are at the other end of my phone

Communication may be indirect but still

Sharing with you
Connection

Never feeling truly alone

An illusion that gives me strength

Connection

Ah Winter.

Is winter here yet?

Winter set into my heart many months ago

The freezing block rimed with sparkling ice

Growing bigger with my fountain of black tears

How I long for the heat of summer to release me

To allow me from this numbed prison.
Is winter still here?

Since I felt your love slipping away from me

I feel the coldness of the north winds

Chilling my very bones as I continue in life as an automaton

Paying lip service to my chores and responsibilities

Doing what I must with an absence of joy.
Ah, winter!

Today the season has caught up with my already wintery soul

Outside the grass is silvered and sparkling with frost

The sky is grey but under the clouds I see a golden glow

No significant heat to purge the voracious cold

But adding brightness to cheer and enough heat to melt the icy vapour
Ah, darkness!

You make the winter days feel long

Daylight is at a premium the day skewed to favour darkness

This suits my feeling of melancholy my dissaffection with the world

Like an animal I can guard my hurts and hibernate

I need not shine a light on your lack of caring.
Hibernation is impossible life gets in the way

As winter approaches we live in close array

The darkness is a complication but our lives are full of light

In the cold midwinter, we stay cozy make things right.
Ah, winter

It is a season of more than dark and cold

Nuts and berries on the trees food for creatures

The warmth of a roaring fire ,as we take our ease

The beauty of the virgin  snow on garden, tree and field

Logistics can be difficult but as humans we succeed.
Ah, winter

Have I lost your love

Let us sit by the fire and air our souls

May the ice on my heart be melted in the glow

Even if your love has disapated

I need to tackle winter, love it and extoll.

Winter

December feels just like spring

Weather warm no cold swing

Dark and damp the winter nights

Gloomy days a few are bright

Rain and gales the weather gives

No crisp cold frost the warmth forbids

The season marches further on

Christmas creeps up hit that gong

Presents bought and cards a wing

Mood adjusts to the festive swing

Towns and cities, houses too

Covered in lights of every hue

Friends give a a glimpse of other lives

 Christmas in another guise

Ce!ebrating with summer days

Not for them the winter haze

Crisp blue skies and sparkly seas

Sunshine, sea  blue sky warm breeze

But grey or blue, north or south

There is the touch of a friend as greetings bounce

Brings a smile to warm the heart

Because friendship is a really great art

Its always summer somewhere

And during the winter season be aware

It can always be summer in your heart.

Attracted

I am attracted to you, like a moth to a flame

Attracted to your beacon, am I flying in a game

I am attracted to your light, might it be the pheromones

I feel you so close my whole being responds

Even when you are far away

I let my essence free

So it can move towards you, a real devotee

I visualise us dancing dreamily

Maybe a touch indecently

As our spirits intertwine

Mirroring our meetings

During freedoms

Down the line

I am attracted to your light, would you could be mine
