I suppose it’s a quote to get to the heart of what “love” is and how we categorise it. That maybe we use the word love for too many situations and it becomes hard to delineate it. It’s about thinking about love in all its forms romantic , family, friends It’s maybe the line behind sexual attraction, need and “love ” which maybe or maybe not also combines friendship….and what happens when that particular love comes to an end….it may turn to hatred or obsession. Whereas friendship in its purist sense is a different beast.
