Alternative way

If you are feeling at a low ebb

Despondent unable to cope, with lifes web

Heartbroken, unappreciated

Clothed but feeling stark naked
When you want to give up,stop, look for hope

Regroup, retrench and for a moment,be a castle in a moat

Find your essence, the centre of your being

Retreat into your inner eye, do new seeing
Let go of all the things you can’t control

Hold all your strengths and blessings to extol

Grieve for dreams unfulfilled

Wishes and hopes that have chilled
Then parcel that grief and toss it away

Breath deep the scent of the happiness bouquet

Find small green shoots to nurture, even in the devastation

Don’t give up, hold on, it’s all in the interpretation

Find lifes alternative way.

Padlocked Love.

Padlocked Love
So many padlocks

Locked with so much love

Each locked compartment

Bursting at the seams

Once upon a time

 the symbol of fidelity

Lovers clipped them to a rail

Threw away the key
Thousands of padlocks

Sitting in a row

A sign of relationships

Waiting time to grow

Years pass by and the

world begins to tarnish

Locked to the rail

With no hint of varnish
Could we view those couples

Starting off brand new

Ten years on how many

Are still true

Are they welded close

Like the padlock on the rail

Or split assunder the lock

All atrail?

Fate

Fate
Planning a journey my heart races

chance to explore unknown places

in this world of exciting spaces
how to choose, stick a pin

that could mean lose or win

wish- list checked word by word

cut it down by a third
I travel far with little fear

leave it to fate, or stay near here

a journey made by boot and foot

a different adventure new input
with a map to help me yet

though fate, a new course might have set

Misty Dawn

Misty Dawn
Two souls dancing an aerial ballet

in the calm dappled light of misty dawn

flying and zooming without interplay

two souls dancing an aerial ballet

saying a farewell they can’t delay

as the zephyr breeze  plays a carillon

two souls dancing an aerial ballet

In the calm dappled light of the misty dawn
In the calm dappled light of a misty dawn

floating like balloons higher and higher

moving together feeling woebegone

in the calm dappled light of a misty dawn

life has changed, the storms have gone

we are changing direction no more misfire

i the calm dappled light of the misty dawn

floating like balloons higher and higher
Floating apart as our balloons fly  higher

in the cool dappled light of a misty dawn

leaving below loves funeral  pyre

floating apart as our  balloons fly higher

happiness and regret,we no longer desire

new skies to fly, new places to belong

floating apart as our balloons fly higher

in the cool dappled light of a misty dawn

Conduit of hope

The bridge to nowhere
My only escape

Pervasive landscape

While my heartbreaks
Only a conduit
Filtering my  screams

Holding and protecting all my dreams

Safe from those erosive streams
I balance above
Exterior rust

Inside lined, with layers of trust

Barrier  remains intact. Feels just
I run along
Landscape bleak

Seeing a sign, miseries defeat

On the otherside, freedom to speak

The bridge to somewhere.

The sign

Dark days become nights the stars don’t align

in this nightmare world of retrograde time

Stare into the cosmos look for a sign
Spiral out of control, lost lifes design

You were my anchor now gone such a crime

Dark days become nights the stars don’t align
Need to find a new path draw out the line

Not play the fool in futile pantomime

Stare into the cosmos look for a sign
Days feeling like weeks dreams seem borderline

My home no longer the haven sublime

Dark days become nights the stars don’t align
Break free from bad feelings must not resign

My love is worth more than a tumbling dime

Stare into the cosmos finding a sign
Love all encompassing, truly divine

Is waiting to find me yours was a mime

Light days become nights the stars realign

Stare into the cosmos yes there’s a sign.
This is written in the form of a Villanelle.

Letter to my ex.

Dear one time lover,

What ifs, past regrets

Peevish feelings, let’s forget,

If today l am feeling blue,

Why wish you, miserable too,

(Although in my heart. Maybe I do!)

When you left, without regret,

With no thought for my distress,

Taking of course the easy way,

You found more, compliant prey

(I expect, you think this is just repay!)

What ifs, won’t change the present,

Just cause sadness, make life unpleasant,

So my one time man, we were not meant to be,

I will find something better, just wait and see.

(I have cleared out life’s debris.)

I have moved on, my life’s back on track,

What ifs, past regrets are, off my back,

If getting revenge was my aim,

Finding love and happiness- the victory claim.

(In my heart I am over you.)

What ifs, past regrets

Happy feelings, let’s not forget,

Today no longer feeling blue,

Having a good life in spite of you.

Yours out of love.
