Would I look?

Would I look at you ,the same ,” regardless”
if your eyes were filled with pain
I would probably look closer, more information to obtain
I might want to support you in your struggle to survive
To try to hold a mirror to the you
behind the pain and strife
I would want to demonstrate the power of belief
Particularly those negatives that can become life’s thief
I would look for signs, that you could love yourself
A must to heal that pain, and to transend the past
Would I look at you ,the same ,” regardless”
if your eyes were filled with pain
I would look closer more information to obtain

My home

Inside my bag are packed the things

that fill my heart with joy

the faded, threadbare shawl

that whispers

a tinplate soldier toy.
Inside my bag wrapped well in cloth

a tiny mirror fragment

immortalised inside that glass

the ghosts of those I love

Some memories are intransigent
Inside my bag stowed very safe

two  engraved silver napkin rings

a wooden bowl of cedar wood

an ebony black queen a

reminder of past sins

Inside my bag I have my home

memories, from days gone by

I lost the rest, I am alone

I will be till I die.
The hostel for the homeless

Is where I rest my head

My bag stops my neurosis

My home sits under my bed.

I am the curse I am the legend

This is a Terzanelle with a rhyme pattern of

ABA¹, bCB, cDC, dED, eFE, fFAA¹
The water ripples dancing silvered

Joining and flowing to become the sea

I am the river rushing tempered
If you listen hard you can hear my plea

I am the curse I am the legend

Joining and flowing to become the sea
I am destruction I am resentment

If you listen hard you will hear my screams

I am the curse I am the legend
I utilise a siren’s schemes

To lure you to a fate you can’t forsee

If you listen hard you can hear my screams
I grow and expand as I hit the sea

As I roll and I crash, my power forms

To lure you to a fate you can’t forsee
Forever revenge will conjur up storms

As I roll and I crash my power forms

The water ripples dancing silvered

I am the river rushing tempered.

The sign

Dark days become nights the stars don’t align

in this nightmare world of retrograde time

Stare into the cosmos look for a sign
Spiral out of control, lost lifes design

You were my anchor now gone such a crime

Dark days become nights the stars don’t align
Need to find a new path draw out the line

Not play the fool in futile pantomime

Stare into the cosmos look for a sign
Days feeling like weeks dreams seem borderline

My home no longer the haven sublime

Dark days become nights the stars don’t align
Break free from bad feelings must not resign

My love is worth more than a tumbling dime

Stare into the cosmos finding a sign
Love all encompassing, truly divine

Is waiting to find me yours was a mime

Light days become nights the stars realign

Stare into the cosmos yes there’s a sign.
This is written in the form of a Villanelle.

The dark of the night

I lay on a bed in

 the dark of the night.
Dressed  all in satin a

sensuous sight,

A sacrifical pose,

From a satanic rite.
You are beside me your

breath on my skin,

I welcome your presence,

A reprise to begin.
My world and my lover you

 left me, chagrin,

Now you are back,

Great joy set to win.
I feel immortal your

 touch, energises,

You make me whole,

I forgive you your lies.
I turn towards you then

let out a scream,

Dressed all in black,

A dark angel you seem.
Is this the darkness that

fills your soul,

Those feathered wings,

Hyperbole?
You bend to kiss me, then

 suck  out my breath,

Am I the sacrifice,

You, the angel of death?
I seem to diminish my

breathing to stop,

No I must fight,

I will survive, will I not?
I lay on a bed in

the dark of the night.
Twisting and turning,

 Now radiating light.

Vortex

Vortex dark and swirling,

Momentarily still,

Grey shades of darkness, lozenge

shaped,ready to kill,

Fae currents from

a far off world,

Coalesce in this spot,

Danger dark despicable,

Could this be our lot?

Brightness, radiating beams

of light, our saviour or

our plight?

Blue and golden

 rainbows, holds the darkness

 tight,

 Just holding dangers balance

keeping up the fight,

The aura made of goodness

is filtered from our world,

Banishing the evil to just a little swirl.
